1. Do not skip breakfast.

If you skip breakfast, you nearly double your chances of overeating at lunch. It is often recommended to eat the most calories during breakfast because you have all day to work them off.

2. Avoid eating out as often.

Fast food or restaurant-style food is often high in calories and served in large portions. Not only will you eat healthier by choosing to prepare meals at home, but you can also save money.

3. Drink plenty of water.

Limiting your beverages to mostly water will help you lose weight and remain healthy. It is especially beneficial to eliminate soda drinks and other sugary drinks from your diet to reduce your daily calorie intake.

4. Switch from whole milk to skim (nonfat).

If you do this gradually, you will consume less calories a day. By doing it gradually, you will also get used to the taste more easily.

5. Set yourself up for success.

9. Track your progress.

When people keep a journal of their daily activities and eating habits, it helps them see what is being achieved. If people keep track of their achievements, it is more likely that they will succeed with reaching their goals.

10. Forgive yourself.

There may be times when you lapse with your dieting and exercising. However, do not let it discourage you from attaining your goals. Instead, learn from your mistakes and continue on to show that you are better than that.
